Scopes and risks of mobilisation via sea transport

07 Oct 2021/0 Comments/in All Technical Articles, Mobilisation/by Kyaw Myo Hlaing

Relocation of crane and heavy equipment comes with huge technical challenges and risks.

Scope  includes planning and making procedures for loading/unloading of the equipment onto and off of the vessel, designing the lashing of the equipment to the vessel deck, designing reinforcement structures to the equipment, calculation of the equipment structures for sea accelerations often including finite element modelling and analysis, as well as reviewing the water draft of the vessel, tide tables and wharf condition at loading and unloading ports.
